17 killed in train derailment in northeast Taiwan: gov’t

Seventeen people were killed and about 30 injured when a train derailed Sunday afternoon in northeastern Taiwan, according to the government.

The accident occurred in Yilan county when the Puyuma Express 6432 derailed between Dongshan and Suxin stations, the Strait Times reported, citing a Taiwan Central News Agency report.
