Costumed revelers enjoyed Halloween in New York on Wednesday amid tight security a year after a deadly truck attack marred the event.
Thousands of uniformed and plainclothes police officers were deployed for the city’s big Halloween parade in Greenwich Village, with both marchers and spectators dressed in costumes, according to local media.
«People might complain but it’s worth it, to save a life,» a Spider-Man costumed Michael Crozier, 26, was quoted as saying by the Associated Press.
Also Wednesday in many parts of the United States and Canada, children in costume traveled from house to house, asking for treats with the phrase «Trick or Treat.»
