North Korea has decided to deport a U.S. citizen who was detained after entering the country illegally last month from China, state media reported Friday.
Bruce Byron Lawrence was detained as he entered North Korea through its land border with China on Oct. 16, the Korean Central News Agency reported.
Lawrence, whose age and occupation were not immediately available, confessed to have entered the North on the instructions of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, KCNA said.
Lawrence was previously deported by South Korea last year after he was caught trying to enter the North from the South Korean county of Yeoncheon, about 64 kilometers north of Seoul.
