Sydney was transformed into a sea of colors and light Friday, as the harbor city switched on its lights for the Vivid Sydney festival.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Vivid Sydney showcases a number of light displays, projected on iconic landmarks such as the Sydney Opera House and Taronga Zoo for 23 nights, in the country’s largest festival event.

Interactive light installations and projections are accompanied by a number of musical performances, featuring Australian and international artists, throughout the city.
According to New South Wales State Premier Gladys Berejiklian, last year over 2.3 million people attended the festival, injecting over A$ 143 million (US$ 108.3 million) into the state’s economy.
